With nearly a decade of hands-on experience in correctional mental health, Ashley Miller has dedicated her career to supporting incarcerated individuals through some of their most challenging moments. Her correctional expertise spans intake, medical units, housing units, facility management, and now psychiatric care as a provider, giving her a deep, firsthand understanding of the unique struggles faced by those in custody, particularly in the realm of behavioral health.
Ashley began her career as a nurse on the intake floor, working directly with individuals entering the jail system in crisis—often confused, overwhelmed, and in need of immediate mental health support. She then transitioned through medical units and housing assignments, gaining invaluable insight into correctional healthcare and correctional rehabilitation at every level. Rising to the role of Facility Coordinator for medical and mental health services, she led teams, developed specialized programs, and tackled the complex challenges of managing psychological care in the correctional system.
Now, as a psychiatric provider, Ashley brings her extensive frontline experience into her work, ensuring that mental health care within correctional settings is compassionate, effective, and evidence-based. Throughout her career, one principle has guided her work:
“I never judge. I treat everyone as an equal.”
Understanding the critical need for mental health resources in jails, Ashley founded Mind Rehab, an innovative program designed to provide incarcerated individuals with the tools they need to grow, heal, and find clarity. Built on years of insight, clinical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to empowerment, Mind Rehab reflects her dedication to helping individuals navigate their reentry into society and move toward a better future, even in the most challenging environments.
